LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Review how the velocity of change across the health care delivery environment is governed by unpredictable feedback loops, from public policy, to disruptive technologies and the structural challenge of producing better patient outcomes.

Describe current neuroscientific thought on the cognitive and emotional pathways to health, new therapeutic approaches to mental health, the curative value of creative pursuits, and the importance of community connections.

Discuss the mechanisms of immunity and resilience, as these manifest individually, such as through vaccinations, and at the population level, through communal responses to natural disasters and other stressors.

Identify how Millennials, as a generational cohort, are responding to the social forces that shaped them and in turn, how they will drive the health care system of the future.

Differentiate among the complex and sometimes contradictory roles food plays in society, both essential and a source of joy, but also potential hazard with huge environmental impacts.

DISCLOSURE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST

The Annenberg Center assesses conflict of interest with its speakers, planners, managers, and other individuals who are in a position to control the content of CE/CME activities. All relevant conflicts of interest that are identified are thoroughly vetted by the Annenberg Center for fair balance, scientific objectivity of studies utilized in this activity, and patient care recommendations. The Annenberg Center is committed to providing its learners with high-quality CE/CME activities and related materials that promote improvements or quality in health care and not a specific proprietary business interest of a commercial interest.
