Alastair Fitzpayne is executive director of the Future of Work Initiative at the Aspen Institute. Previously, he served as chief of staff at the US Department of Health and Human Services under secretary Sylvia Burwell and held a number of senior roles at the Department of the Treasury during the Obama administration, including deputy chief of staff and assistant secretary for legislative affairs. Fitzpayne has also served as an economic advisor on Capitol Hill, to former senator Evan Bayh and former representative Rahm Emanuel. He has also worked at the Office of Management and Budget and Abt Associates, a public policy consulting firm.
