Alex Stamos

Alex Stamos is a cybersecurity expert working to improve the security and safety of the Internet through teaching and research at Stanford University, where he’s an adjunct professor at the Freeman-Spogli Institute, William J. Perry Fellow at the Center for International Security and Cooperation, and visiting scholar at the Hoover Institution. Previously, as chief security officer at Facebook and Yahoo and co-founder of iSEC Partners, Stamos investigated and responded to some seminal events in the short history of cybersecurity. He is a member of the Annan Commission on Elections and Democracy and advises NATO’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. Stamos has spoken on six continents, testified in Congress, and holds five patents.
