Amy Mitchell is director of journalism research at Pew Research Center, where she has worked for 20 years and is a founding member of its journalism work. She is responsible for research related to news and information, including how the public accesses, engages with, and creates news; what news organizations are providing; and how technology is changing these elements. She also specializes in the influence of political identity on news choices. Prior to this, Mitchell was a congressional research associate at the American Enterprise Institute, researching public policy and the relationship of the press, the public, and government. A public speaker, Mitchell addresses government leaders, decision makers, technology companies, foundations, and news and information providers.
