Darren Walker is president of the Ford Foundation, a $13 billion global social justice philanthropy, since 2013. A former corporate attorney, he previously held executive positions at Abyssinian Development Corporation and the Rockefeller Foundation. Walker led the philanthropy committee that helped resolve the City of Detroit’s bankruptcy. He chairs the US Impact Investing Alliance and the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy. He serves on the boards of Carnegie Hall, the High Line, VOW to End Child Marriage, Committee to Protect Journalists, National Gallery of Art, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture. A member of the first Head Start class in 1965, Walker was named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2016.
