Ed Pavlic is the Distinguished Research Professor of English, African American Studies, and Creative Writing at University of Georgia. His most recent work is Another Kind of Madness: A Novel. Pavlic has written nine other books, including: Who Can Afford to Improvise?: James Baldwin and Black Music, the Lyric and the Listener; Let’s Let That Are Not Yet: Inferno; and Visiting Hours at the Color Line. His essays have appeared in Boston Review, The New York Times, Brick, A Literary Journal and on The Poetry Foundation’s website. The recipient of honors for research, poetry, and writing, Pavlic has held several fellowships, including at Breadloaf and the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard.
