Lori Ann Burd

Environmental Health Director, Center for Biological Diversity

Lori Ann Burd is staff attorney and director of the Center for Biological Diversity’s environmental health program, working to protect all species from harmful effects of toxic substances. Recognizing that all oppressions are interconnected and thus all liberation struggles are intertwined, Burd has worked on issues across women’s rights, organic advocacy, racism, international trade, dirty energy, public lands, toxics, and biodiversity. She was previously a staff attorney and campaign manager for Bark, defenders of Mount Hood National Forest; National Wildlife Federation, focusing on mountaintop-removal coal mining and tar sands pipelines, and the Center for Food Safety, focusing on pesticides and industrial agriculture. She serves on the Crag Law Center board.
