Michele Moody-Adams

Stratus Professor of Political Philosophy and Legal Theory, Columbia University

Michele Moody-Adams is the Straus Professor of Political Philosophy and Legal Theory at Columbia University, where she was previously dean of Columbia College and vice president for undergraduate education. She has also taught at Cornell University, Wellesley College, University of Rochester, and Indiana University. Moody-Adams has published articles on equality and social justice, moral psychology and the virtues, and gender and race. She is the author of Fieldwork in Familiar Places: Morality, Culture and Philosophy and is at work on a forthcoming book titled Renewing Democracy. She has been a British Marshall scholar, an NEH fellow, and is a lifetime honorary fellow of Somerville College, Oxford.
