John Marshall Harlan II Professor Emerita, New York Law School; Author, HATE: Why We Should Resist It With Free Speech, Not Censorship

Nadine Strossen is the John Marshall Harlan II Professor Emerita at New York Law School and an expert on constitutional law and civil liberties. The past president of the American Civil Liberties Union (1991-2008), she serves on its National Advisory Council and is an advisory board member of the Academic Freedom Alliance, Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, and Heterodox Academy. Strossen authored the 2018 book HATE: Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech, Not Censorship and Defending Pornography: Free Speech, Sex, and the Fight for Women’s Rights, a 1995 New York Times Notable Book. Among other recognition, the National Law Journal named Strossen one of the country’s 100 Most Influential Lawyers.
