Nina Totenberg

Nina Totenberg is NPR’s legal affairs correspondent, since 1975. Her reports, including coverage of the US Supreme Court, air regularly on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition. In 1991, Totenberg’s breaking story of sexual harassment allegations against Judge Clarence Thomas led the Senate Judiciary Committee to re-open Thomas’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings to consider Anita Hill’s charges. For that report and subsequent coverage, she earned several awards, including the George Foster Peabody Award. Totenberg appears often on television and is a frequent contributor to publications including The New York Times Magazine and Harvard Law Review. Early in her career, she wrote for the New Times and National Observer.
