Simon Denny

Artist; Co-Founder, Berlin Program for Artists; Professor of Time-Based Media, HFBK Hamburg

Simon Denny is the co-founder of the Berlin Program for Artists and professor of time-based media at HFBK Hamburg. An artist, he makes exhibitions that unpack the social and political implications of the technology industry and the rise of social media, start-up culture, blockchains, and cryptocurrencies using media including installation, sculpture, print, video, and NFTs. Recent solo exhibitions include K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf; Museum of Old and New Art, Tasmania; and MOCA, Cleveland. Denny represented his native New Zealand at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015. His works are represented in institutional collections including MoMA in New York, Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington.
