Selly Raby Kane is a Senegalese fashion designer who launched her eponymous brand, SRK, in 2012, and works on projects bridging the gap between fashion, immaterial heritage, and technology. She co-founded Rukki Bukki, specializing in digital storytelling, creative marketing, and digital media, in 2018 and was appointed Design Indaba’s first creative director in 2017. Having lent her style to icons including Beyonce´ and collaborated with IKEA, Kane has exhibited her pieces at MoMA PS1, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark), Vitra Design Museum, and Design Indaba. Other projects include Elsewhen, a sci-fi project exploring the future of the African continent through virtual reality and digital media, and a VR film, The Other Dakar.
